Open the iPad's Settings app.
Scroll down and tap General.
Tap About.
The operating system version number is listed next to Software Version.
Updating your iPad's software
If your iPad isn't running iPadOS 15.5 or later, and you're using one of the above models, follow these steps to update your software:
Plug your iPad into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
Tap Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
Tap Download and Install.
