Since v4.0.0 of the iPad app, self check-in can be configured to flow the way you want it to — ask for their phone number instead of DOB, or only as a fallback. Ask for their initials, require intervention or not. It's up to you. We're going to skip all that and just use the default configuration.
If you haven't yet created yourself as a test patient, and booked yourself in for an appointment for today, please do that now.
☝️ Note: make sure you enter your correct DOB in your patient record in Cliniko, as we will use this to match to your appointment.
Once that's done, go to the kiosk mode configuration screen (the third icon down from the top of the screen in the left-hand menu in the admin area, with the pink background), and tap on launch kiosk mode. You'll get a message about guided access — just launch anyway for now.
The iPad is now in self check-in mode. Please try check-in, as a patient of yours would, using your DOB. By default, you won't be asked to fill out any forms — but you can configure self check-in to ensure patients fill out forms that they may have missed filling before their appointment.
Once you've tested it out, you can exit kiosk mode by using the subtle exit button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.
