Prior to October 2025, the only way to reset your password for the Finger-Ink portal was to use a Cliniko API key — this would allow us to make sure you are who you say you are, and thus let you set a new password.
Since we now allow users from other practice management systems as well — having a Cliniko-only password reset page doesn't make sense.
Because of this, we've added a way to reset your password with your email address instead. Here's how it works.
Resetting your password via email
The first step is to find the forgot password page — it's conveniently linked from the portal sign-in page:
Once there, enter your email address and press the button to continue:
Once you've done that, go check your inbox. You should have received an email that looks something like this — with one or more blue links. Each link represents a Finger-Ink account / clinic that your email address has access to. Just click on the one that needs its password reset:
This will bring you to a page which lets you set a new, secure password:
Once you've set it you'll be taken back to the sign-in page and asked to sign in with your new password! 🥳
